Simple Present Tense 

Rumus 1 :

• S + V1s/es + O

       Bentuknya :

       (+) S + Tobe + O

       (-)  S + Tobe + Not + O

       (?) Tobe + S + O

     Example : (+) He is a teacher

                     (-)  He is not a teacher

                     (?)  Is he a teacher ? 

Rumus 2 : 

• S + Tobe(is , am , are) + Complement

       Bentuknya :

       (+) S + Vs/es + O

       (-)  S + DOES(he,she,it)/ DO(i,you,we,they) + Not + V1 + O

       (?) DOES/DO + S + V1 + O ?

    Example : (+) I read a novel

                    (-)  I do not read a novel

                    (?) Do i read a novel?

Simple Past Tense                    

Rumus 1 :(+) S + Tobe(was/were) + O 

               (-) S + Tobe + Not + O

               (?) Tobe + S + O + ?

Rumus 2 : (+) S + V2 (Regular atau d/ed) + O

                (-)  S + DID + Not + V1 + O

                (?) DID + S + V1 + O

Rumus 3 : (+) S + V2 ( Irregular) + O 

                (-)  S + DID + Not + V1 + O 

                (?) DID + S + V1 + O 

    Example : 

               1. (+) John was lazy man

                   (-) John was not lazy man

                   (?)  Was John lazy man 

               

               2. (+) They studied biology 

                   (-)  They did not study biology 

                   (?)  Did they study biology?

               3. (+)  We went to London 

                   (-)   We did not go to London

                   (?)   Did we go to London?
